What am I looking at?

Every line is a strand of space itself. Mass pulls the strands toward it in all three dimensions โ€” that contraction of distances is what general relativity actually describes, and it's why the grid brightens and bunches near heavy objects.

Nothing here is "sucked down" onto a sheet. The planets and particles simply travel the straightest possible path through space that is no longer straight โ€” and that path is an orbit. Gravity isn't a force reaching out to grab things; it's geometry.

Click anywhere to drop a test particle and see it for yourself. In the Black Hole Merger scenario, the spiraling pair stirs the grid into outgoing ripples โ€” gravitational waves โ€” that chirp faster and harder until the two become one.
