One types a secret message. The other copies them, hot on their heels.

Only the runner sees the message. The cat sees just the words already typed — and how far behind it is. If the cat's cursor catches the runner's, dinner is served. If the runner finishes the message first, they live to type another day. Roles are dealt at random.
