How to Play The Average Game

Don't guess the answer. Guess what everyone guesses.

There's one question a day, and it's the same for everyone. Enter a number.

The goal is not the true answer: it's to land as close as possible to the average of everyone's guesses.

You get one guess per day, it requires an account, and it permanently joins the crowd data everyone after you plays against.

Your score (0–100) is the percentage of the existing crowd your guess beat.
After submitting you see the current crowd average and how many players are in it.

Think one level deep: what will a normal person guess? Then guess that, not the truth.
Crowds systematically underestimate huge numbers and overestimate small ones — aim where the herd lands.

Why was my "correct" answer scored badly?

Being factually right doesn't matter — only proximity to the crowd's average does. That's the game.

Can I change my guess?

No. One guess per day, and it's permanent — it becomes part of the crowd for everyone else.
