How to play Ballistic Basketball
Same shot, different planet. Jupiter is not your friend.
How to play
Ten shots: two at each of the Moon, Mars, Earth, Jupiter, and Pluto, all at their real surface gravity. Drag from the cannon to set angle and power, release to fire.
The hoop moves out to match the gravity — Pluto's is a distant speck you lob at for half a minute, Jupiter's is practically indoors because nothing flies there.
Some hoops have backboards. Banking one in counts, just not for full points.
Free play shuffles the venue order each run; the daily gives everyone the same ten hoops on the same worlds, one attempt.
Scoring
- A swish pays 100, off the rim or board and in pays 70, a miss pays 0 — and the second shot at each world only pays 80%, so make the first one count.
- Sink all ten and the Perfect Solar System bonus adds 100, for a maximum of 1000.
- Daily and free-play boards are separate, and higher is better on both.
Tips
- Watch shot one land, even when it misses — it's free calibration for shot two, which is exactly why shot two pays less.
- Low gravity punishes power. On Pluto, an Earth-strength launch is a farewell ceremony.
- Hang time is compressed so Pluto doesn't take all afternoon; the arc is still honest, just faster to watch.
Frequently asked questions
Is the gravity actually real?
The surface g values are the real ones — Moon 1.62, Jupiter 24.79, and so on. The playback speed is compressed; the trajectory is not.
Why is the Jupiter hoop so close?
Because at 24.79 m/s² your cannonball drops like a confession. The court scales with gravity so every hoop is technically reachable. Technically.
