How to play Crowd Pixel
One canvas. Everyone. One pixel at a time. Defend your art or lose it.
How to play
Everyone paints on the same canvas, live. Pick a color from the 16-swatch palette — 24 if you own the Painter's Palette from the coin store — and click a cell to claim it.
After each pixel you wait out a cooldown before the next one: 5 minutes for free players, 1 minute with Pointless Plus. In a hurry, a cooldown skip — bought right on the canvas with Tickets — clears the wait instantly (up to 10 a day).
Anything can be painted over — including your pixels. Build with allies, defend your corner, or wage polite war over a single cell.
Hover any pixel to see who painted it and when. Drag or scroll to pan, Ctrl+wheel or the buttons to zoom.
Guests can watch the canvas evolve in real time; placing pixels needs a (free) account so the cooldown has someone to belong to.
Scoring
- There's no score — the canvas is the scoreboard. Your lifetime pixel count is tracked above the canvas for bragging rights.
- Every placement is permanent until someone paints over it, and the whole canvas survives forever.
Tips
- Big art needs friends: one painter is 12 pixels an hour, a group chat is a mural.
- Corners and edges are easier to defend than the crowded middle.
- The 📸 button copies the whole canvas as a crisp PNG — screenshot the moment before it changes.
Frequently asked questions
Can I remove a pixel?
Paint it white — white is a color like any other, which is also why your art is never entirely safe.
Why is my cooldown longer than my friend's?
They have Pointless Plus, which shortens the wait from 5 minutes to 1. The canvas is otherwise identical for everyone.
Does the canvas ever reset?
No plans to. What the crowd paints, stays — until the crowd repaints it.
