How to play The Pointless IQ Test
Twelve fresh puzzles. One flattering number. Zero science.
How to play
Twelve puzzles, each with an 18-second timer — running out counts as a miss. Types include number sequences, odd-one-out, mental-math chains, letter sequences, logic comparisons, and proportions.
Every puzzle is generated fresh, so there is no question bank to memorize, and difficulty ramps up every four questions.
Scoring
- You receive an "IQ" between 55 and 160, built from a base of 55 plus up to 90 for difficulty-weighted accuracy and up to 15 for speed on solved puzzles.
- Later puzzles count more, so the back third of the test carries the score.
- It is proudly, explicitly, not a real IQ test. It's entertainment with delusions of grandeur.
Tips
- A fast wrong answer scores zero — 18 seconds is more time than the pressure makes it feel.
- Don't burn morale on a miss: the heavily-weighted hard puzzles are still ahead.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a real IQ test?
Absolutely not, and the game says so itself. Treat the number as a high score, not a diagnosis.
Can I retake it for a better score?
Yes, endlessly — every run generates new puzzles, and your best lives on the leaderboard.
