How to play Tug of Warp
Space tug-of-war with a rope that fights back. Cut, grab, yank.
How to play
Two crews of up to four haul a derelict station across the void. Hold the mouse, a finger, or Space to fire your thrusters away from the station; drag it past your crew's capture line to win, or just be ahead when the 90 seconds run out.
Hauling drains stamina; resting refills it. Haul on an empty tank and you lose your grip for two seconds — tumbling on the rope, contributing nothing, visibly.
The yank: release at maximum tension, then grab back within a heartbeat, and you land a brief double-strength pull. A crew that times its yanks together moves the station a very long way.
Quick match, or create a room and share the 4-letter code. Short-handed ropes get bot deckhands so every round is at least 2v2.
Scoring
- Every round win adds one to the leaderboard for everyone on the winning crew — the board ranks career wins.
- A round the station ends dead centre is a stalemate that pays nobody, and beating a rope crewed entirely by bots wins the round but scores nothing.
Tips
- Rest is a move. A crew that all hauls constantly hits empty together and hands the round to whoever kept one thumb in reserve.
- Yank when the enemy commits — peak tension happens when both crews are hauling, which is exactly when a doubled pull hurts most.
- Call the yanks in chat. Four synchronized heartbeats beat four strong strangers every time.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need Pointless Plus?
No — Tug of Warp is open to everyone.
Why didn't my win count?
Check the crew list: if every opponent was a bot deckhand, the round pays pride only. Beating at least one human is what the board respects.
