How to play The Daily Unscramble
One giant scrambled word a day. Four guesses. No mercy.
How to play
Every day at midnight UTC a new long word appears, scrambled, and it's identical for every player on Earth.
You get four guesses. Each wrong guess reveals one more leading letter as a hint.
One attempt per day — solve it or wear the zero.
Scoring
- Solving on guess 1, 2, 3, or 4 scores 100, 70, 40, or 20 points. Failing scores 0.
- Scores go to a daily leaderboard that resets with the word.
Tips
- The first guess is worth triple the last — spend real time on it before committing.
- Hunt for suffixes first (-TION, -ING, -NESS); locking the ending usually collapses the rest.
- The word pool is large enough that no word repeats within a year, so don't bother memorizing.
Frequently asked questions
When does the new word arrive?
Midnight UTC, same moment for everyone.
Can I play yesterday's word?
No — one word, one day, one attempt. That's what makes the morning coffee version of this game so dangerous.
